Has anyone used a hospital grade breast pump to increase milk supply?

No sorry, but thought you might like to have a read of this. Assuming that is that you haven't already seen it Smile

Yes, which worked though started expressing with HGBP from day 3 (days 2-3 had been manual pump) and we finally weaned DD1 off bottles at 8 weeks old. It did take a lot of expressing (I expressed both sides 12 times a until the Medela Symphony timed out which is about 30 mins) and 4x610mg of fenugreek tablets x3 a day.

I have since then learnt from having to express whilst in hospital that:-
you don't need to sterilise the pumps each time (you can put fresh collection bottle on pump and store in fridge/or wash out with hot soapy water),

breast massage followed by electric expressing then hand expression gets the biggest yield for me (may not work for everyone but worth a shot)

covering the pumps so I can't look at the milk as I'm producing it (more watching = less milkConfused)

block pumping (pump for 10 mins on both sides simultaneously then rest/do something else for 10 mins, pump for 10, rest for 10, pump for 10) can really help boost supply as well.

Are you trying to relactate or do you feel your supply is dwindling? If you can give some more information someone may have some relevant experience they could share.
