lumpy nipples after stopping bf - what to do

hello all. i'm just looking for a bit of advice. i stopped breastfeeding my dd2 around a week ago. she is 25 weeks. i cut down over the cours of around 7-9 days, then stopped completely. i am not sure what to do at the moment. i expressed small amounts at first to relieve the engorgement. now i am no longer engorged but still getting lumps around my nipples, where i guess milk is building up. not sure whether to just leave it, or express. i don't want to risk getting mastitis but worried that if i keep expressing some off, i will just continue lactating.

does anyone have any advice? TIA

I would express for comfort, just enough to make the lumps go away. If you ignore the lumps, you run the risk of mastitis or (worse) and absess.

If you hand express, and focus on the lumps, you can minimise how much milk you take out, which should minimise how much milk you keep making, iyswim.
