Not sure 7month old is drinking milk

My ds is on 3 meals a day and I know that he's supposed to have a minimum of 20fl oz a day, but to be honest I'm struggling to get even 16oz down him.
When he wakes up (6:30/7am) he doesn't down his milk straight away and I generally make up his cereal with what remains. He'll then have another bottle about 3 hours later (say 10/10:30), but this is generally 3-4oz.
The next bottle is about 2pm, with lunch about 12/12:30 - he has about 4-5oz again.
He'll then have dinner about 4:30/5pm with the last 4oz bottle about 6:30pm.
He does have dairy so he is getting calcium from other means.
Should he drop a bottle perhaps and just have 3 now - but what time would I do the middle bottle of the day?

it doesnt matter at what intervals he has his milk at all, but it may mean he drinks more if you leave a longer gap between bottles and let him get hungrier. my dd doesnt like milk and has always struggled to drink the right amount, but she eats formaig frais (sp) and cheese and is acctually quite happy to have cows milk (shes nearly 11 mth) i wouldnt worry too much.

a health visitor once told me they need 3 portions of calcium a day which is 7 oz of milk, 2 fromage frais', or a portion of cheese (of what size im not uite sure) if he losses weight, or he doesnt put on enough talk it over with a health visitor, if not dont panic!

Corky - my dd is much the same, she is 8 months and doesn't even take as much as your ds. She probably only gets about 11 ounces on average. But, she eats well otherwise and its not milk she needs its whats in the milk IYSWIM so I just try and make sure she gets lots of other calcium and an otherwise balanced diet. HTH.

Thanks thats good to know - I might drop a bottle and let him have what he wants and just keep the diet varied as he's a fairly good eater.
