tandem feeding twins - any tips please?

I have 2 week old twins, born at 34+3. In special care they were fed via NG tube, then a mixture of breast and bottle feeding. They have been home for 2 days and I have been exclusively breast feeding them - demand feeding around every 3-4 hours. This seems to be going ok (i hope they have put on weight), with plenty of wet and dirty nappies.

I have been tandem feeding them to try and make things easier, but I'm worried about how I am going to manage to get them both latched on and winded when I am here on my own next week when DH goes back to work.
I wondered if anyone out there had any tips please?
Thank you!

Congratulations of the arrival and home coming of your twins :)

I have only tandem'd a baby alongside a toddler, so I hope a mother of twins will be along with better advice.

I take it you are nursing them underarm rugby style, if so a good cushion big enough to have both twins on together will help to keep them latched on. Lie them both on your cushion in place. Help one twin to latch on and when they are on properly, help the other twin. Relax and mumsnet Wink

Winding is optional, I haven't bothered with DC2 and DC3. See how your twins go without it.

Sounds lke you are doing well, off to check your profile for cute twin pictures :)

Wow, you are a trooper. I have no tips but wanted to say congratulations & well done for managing two at once! You seem to be doing better than I did and I only had one to contend with! Best of luck.
