Hello ladies,

It's my first post here, though I've long since been an interested lurker. I'm now desperately in need of advice! I've been very happily breastfeeding my 8 week old son since his birth. However, next weekend I'm going to be venturing into the world of business with my first market stall and I'm concerned about how to go about feeding. The stall's going to be once a month so it's not that regular a thing. I was thinking of getting someone to bring my son to visit me after a few hours and I'll totter off to sort him out. However, sometimes his feeds can be every two hours or so and I also don't want to have to have him being wandered around a town centre for the majority of the day just so his selfish mummy can play at being stacey slater! Is it worth starting up bottle feeding for this or should I get someone to park up in starbucks for the day? Super-selfishly, I also don't want to lose out on all our lovely bonding or run the risk of turning him off my boob. Advice please, girls!

It's a tricky one isn't it. I'm not an expert but when I think how DD was at 8 weeks I think you might be able to get away with 1 or 2 bottles of expressed milk to cover say 3 or 4 hours but I think you would struggle to go the whole day without feeding if you want to keep EBF.

Apart from anything else if you're not feeding you will need to express instead otherwise you will get very uncomfortable. I also think that before 12 weeks its not advisable to skip too many feeds because your milk supply isn't fully established (not 100% sure on this though).

Maybe have someone take DS for the morning and feed the expressed milk then bring him back for feeds in the afternoon?
