Hi,
I have been getting pricking pain in my right breast after feeding-it was worse in the beginning and now my baby is 3 months. It is coming again and happens on the right side inside my breast after feeding.GP advised to take painkillers like paracetamol and said it will go away.It gets hard when the shooting pain starts in the night after i feed my baby as this means I cannot sleep for hours even after taking painkiller: I have tried to pump(do not like it)but this is not helping. My latching is ok and I do not have any pain in my nipples, please does anyone else have this kind of problem?not much on this issue on websites-what can I do about this as both me and my baby are getting on well with breastfeeding but this occasional pain is so annoying.

I'm not sure what it could be, maybe a blocked milk duct??

You will likely get more of a response if you post in breast and bottle feeding topic, lots of people discussing feeding problems over there.

It sounds like possible thrush to me, but as cupofcoffee said do post in the breast and bottle feeding topic. Smile Having said that, I have had something like this from time to time but not bad enough to take painkillers. As it wasn't that bad I never looked into it further.
