Nipples sore between feeds

Bfing dd2 (6 weeks). Latching hasn't been great but is much better though still sometimes painful. But at the moment my nipples are still sore even though I'm not feeding. Could it still be as a result of poor latching or is it not normal to hurt between feeds?

Could it be thrush?

I'm not sure, I don't know how to tell if it's that or just general feeding pain. Like I said the latch has been better but she has been feeding non stop for the past 2 days. Seeing dr tomorrow for 6 wk check. I'll ask then.

Thrush often makes your nipples look kind of pink and shiny - my ds also got white patches in his mouth (though it can be difficult to tell the difference between thrush and milk residue!).
