Sterilising? How long?

Hi,

DD2 is 6.5mo. I have been sterilising from start. But just wondering if I can stop now? I sterilised with DD1 I think till about 10 months.

How long did you sterilise for?

With my first I sterilised until 12 months, but I think when they are crawling around putting things in their mouth it seems a bit pointless! A friend who had a baby in France was told by her Doctor there that sterilising was only for when the bottles were not washed properly in hot enough water...

I never sterilised from birth.
But all the recomendations say you don't need to sterilise from 6months- so long as the stuff is washed well in hot soapy water rinsed well and air dried.

Thanks for the responses. I was going to just sterilise them all overnight but seems pointless.

I think I might just stop.
