feeding cues

Can anyone advise me on feeding cues?

Bab nearly 16wo now - previous clockwork feeding gone to pot - assume age related looking at lots of other threads. Add to the mix clocks going back, and I've decided to go back to first principles and feed on demand.

Trouble is, the signs seem different to when he was a new born; arching back and scraping at ears seem the main signs now. Anyone got advice on what else to look out for?

Not a cue so much, but mine always fed around every 2 hours, so I knew that if it had been that long to whack them on the old boob.

It was more of a pre-emptive strike!

I give her a cuddle and if she dives for the boob or pulls my top, she's hungry. Or kiss her cheek and if she quickly turns her head towards my mouth, she's hungry.

Sometimes she just stares and I just know Hmm

Lip smacking and hand chewing are no longer reliable.

By that age if I was cradling DS and he was hungry he'd try and latch on through my top!

[hgrin] at Bollocks, my DD did this too.

OP don't forget it could be the 4 month growth spurt. Take a look at Kellymom about the spurt.

I just used to offer the boob first whenever DD made a noise and if that didn't do the trick I'd try something else. It's usually that that they're after Grin
