18mo still taking 11pm bottle, how to stop?

Hi there

My son is now 18 months old and when we put him to bed at 8 pm, he gets a bottle, of which he only takes a few ounces because we only get to feed him dinner between 6 - 6.30pm due to getting home from work. So he isn't really hungry enough to take a full bottle at 8pm.

Therefore, to get him to sleep through, we still do a 'dream feed' before we go to bed at 11pm.

I suppose I am way behind on this and should have dropped all bottles 6 months ago.

He isn't a big fluids drinker during the day and I am nervous that he won't be getting enough fluids if I drop the milk so I am half the problem really.

Can anyone suggest a better routine? Yours in anticipation.

creep the dream feed back, from 11pm to half 10 then 10 then half 9 until u reach a point where it meets with the 8pm one. Even after tea, mine take a 6oz bottle at 7pm then goes to bed. Mine just has 2 x 6oz bottles per day, b4 afternoon nap and b4 bed. Not much fluids inbetween, sips of water here n there.

Thanks Flojo. Last night we gave a 4 oz bottle and some readybrek. He woke up at 5.30 but only wanted his dummy so that's one night down! I think it was more me that was scared to break the habit tbh!
