Move from demand led BF to formula

I have breast fed my 5 month old son since birth and now plan to switch to formula feeds. How often does a 5/6 month old require a milk feed as my son is feeding every 2 hours at the moment. My health visitor has suggested he is going through a growth spurt. Can anyone suggest a timetable for breastfeeding, he has his biggest feeds in the morning at night(7.30pm). Any suggestions on helping my baby take a bottle too as it is prvong difficult too. All my friends have bottle fed from birth so have no1 to ask. Thanks

I transferred to bottles at 6 months and weaned at same time. Previously he was demand BF although never let him go more than 3 hours.

Our current routine is:

7am breastfeed
30 min morning sleep around 9am
10.30am bottle offer 6oz
11.45am lunch - vegetable puree
12-2.30pm sleep
2.30pm bottle, offer 6oz
5pm dinner - fruit & vegetable puree
6.30pm breast feed
10.30pm breastfeed followed by 3oz formula. He then sleeps until morning.

In terms of taking a bottle, keep on trying and consider using a bottle you can squeeze

DD was also not keen on bottle and we used bags of expressed milk we could squeeze to get her used to the idea that milk came from a bottle.
