8 month old feeds every hour at night?

Any tips on stopping an 8 month old constantly feeding? From 8 pm she feeds every hour until midnight when she sleeps until 3 am and then she feeds every hour until my toddler gets us up at 6 am. I feel physically sick with tiredness most days and am desperate for some sleep. I've tried formula milk but she just won't take it and I have tried everything to get her to take solids but she won't have them. Thanks

I'm sorry to hear, Hannispan, that you're sleeping so little, it must be extremely difficult.

As for how to stop this, well the answer is simple really- just stop doing this, as you know an 8 month old doesn't physically need milk every hour, your DD wakes because of habit / comfort. Not a bad thing in itself, it is what it is. It's up to you as the parent to make a decision: you either stop or continue.
