Wasn't too sure where to post this, but here goes. Long story... dd is now nearly 3, exclusively expressed for 14 months, then weaned her.

We have been ttc dc2 for 18 months ish now. I've been to the docs for numerous blood tests and have now been referred to a reproductive endocrinologist because of raised prolactin levels which are, so it seems, inhibiting ovulation. I am STILL producing milk :( Not loads, but it is still there. There is a massively long waiting list for the hospital and, being (cough) 37, I don't feel I have the time to wait 7 months for an initial appointment.

I was hoping to be prescribed bromocriptine to lower my prolactin levels but, in the meantime, while I wait the eternity for my first endo appointment, does anyone out there have any ideas at all about how to stop my overworked and confused boobs from producing milk?

Would really appreciate any ideas whatsoever.

Residual breastmilk production can go on for some time - 2 years is not long, honest. Sounds like your hormones are v. sensitive to small amounts of prolactin. I haven't heard of anything that would finally stop production, except that the lit. suggests being careful not to stim. the breasts in any way inc. during sex.

Thank you tiktok - thought as much :( I suppose it's just a matter of waiting until I get my appointment. Grr.
