After 4 weeks of nightmare bf'ing we have finally got the hang of it so I wanted to post in the hope of encouraging anyone ready to give up.

I have literally bawled through feeds from the pain while DH held my head to stop me screaming, I tried everything from painkillers & nipple shields to expressing and bottle feeding EBM. The whole experience was hellish but somehow, suddenly, it just started working a few days ago.

I don't really have any advice but if you feel inconsolable and desperate trying to establish bf'ing then maybe just do whatever you can to get through the next feed... it might just be the last bad one. xx

That's really good to know as 4 weeks on, numereous visits to the osteopath, breastfeeding groups and it is still hurting & I don't know how to make it better. have done it once before & been a peer supporter so i was hoping that it would be easier this time.

Thing i may just have to hold tight & hope it gets better.

thanks for posting & well done :)

Lots & lots of luck. I truly believed I'd never be able to do it so I really hope that it all comes good for you soon.

Thanks for posting this. Smile I'm very a bit nervous about breastfeeding and it hurting but I'm determined to do it so every positive story really helps!
