AIBOversensitive to be pissed off that Mr Tumble made the assumption that a baby's milk came in a bottle?

Well, I am breastfeeding my dd and have friends & relatives who have recently been breastfeeding so my older 2 dc assume that babies are breastfed. (If a baby is crying they will say to me 'maybe it wants some boobie'). However they know that only I can feed dd and not daddy or nanny etc and they know milk can be given in a bottle. (They have seen me use the breast pump and have been deeply fascinated). So really if my dc saw Mr Tumble get the bottle they would probably assume it was because he was not the mommy and didn't have any boobies.
It is good to see breastfeeding normalised though so it is nice to hear there has also been a BF mum on Mr Tumble show. I think to see Mr Tumble himself BFing would be a stage too far for me!

Well, yes, YAB oversensitive.

As tmmj pointed out, how on earth would he breastfeed a baby he was looking after?

I know Breastfeeding is an important issue, but a teensy bit of perspective required here, I feel.

I have yet to experience the joys of Mr Tumble (DD is too young for TV just yet so I'm stuck in my own happy world of Balamory, which was the latest thing the last time I had to care for a child) but I did feel the same outrage when the baby ogres were ff on Shrek, even though I think I might baulk myself at bfing triplets Wink

Is a troll a mammal though Grin?

ComeWhineWithMe · 20/10/2010 14:57

Or is an Ogre for that matter Blush.

ShatnersBassoon · 20/10/2010 15:02

Oh, I would love to see Justin signing 'breast'. I think it would be very, very erotic.

Fink · 20/10/2010 15:15

I'm not a biologist, nor even a Shrek expert, but Fiona is half-human, so presumably ogres are similar enough to humans to be able to cross-breed and therefore must be mammals. Having said that, Dragon and Donkey manage to breed, so now I'm not so sure...I'm a bear of little brain and easily confused!

I guess it's possible that Shrek is some kind of fantasy, fiction-based thing and ogres, mammalian or otherwise, don't really exist? But in that case, they might as well bf as not! Grin

ColdComfortFarm · 20/10/2010 15:17

Never mind signing 'breast' if Mr Tumble was to breastfeed kittens on TV at 9.45am, now THAT would cause a bit of a kerfuffle Grin

ComeWhineWithMe · 20/10/2010 15:17

Well when I watched Fungas the bogeyman all lady bogeys had 3 breasts ....so maybe.

Grin at the path taken by this thread since I left it. From Mr Tumble to Shrek via BeBe Gloton ... wondrous.

What is the sign for breast?

I'm sure that in the early Something Specials when they had a baby on, that he said that 'some babies drink from a bottle' but I didn't pay attention to today's episode.
