Now ...
I went on with DS for 15 or so months and then with DD didn't really bother as she was breastfed for 10 months and when she went onto bottles there didn't seem much point.
Before I gave up bfing I did sterilise the odd ebm bottle and all her dummies.
I still do boil her dummies now and again (she is 19mths now)

I stopped at 7 months with ds3, it was the day I found him with his hands down our dog's throat!

Didn't seem much point after that

apparently after 6 months it just recommends that the teats are steralised i believe?

Kelly1978 · 13/09/2005 11:09

I stopped at 4 mnths. There is no point in sterilising when they are rolling around, chewing god knows what. I jsut wash their bottles in very hot soapy water. We use anitbacterial washign up liquid too.

I don't sterilise the teats either - just a good wash, but you must make sure you get a proper bottle brush with the teat brush attached.

As RTKangaMummy said on one of her posts about this subject, you must make sure to "get in all the corners IYKWIM" - that phrase has stuck in my mind for some reason and I think about it when washing bottles. On that note, I have some bottles to wash.....!

We stopped as soon as dd could crawl (not much point when they are trolling about shoving everything in thier mouth anyway )

I think Avent say you're not supposed to used antibac wash stuff, just the regular. I stopped at 6 months.
