Teething = Sore Nipples?

3 replies

DD has cut her first two teeth (bottom middle) as of yesterday. For the past 3 days my nipples have been as sore as they have been since she was a newborn. Prior to the last 3 days they felt as though I could tow a car with them and not feel a thing.

Would this be related to her latch possibly changing with the teeth coming along? Although I can't see that there is anything wrong with the latch. Any alternative reasons/suggestions much appreciated.

We went through this last month. It gets easier after a few days as they get more used to having sharp things in their mouth. It's the top ones I'm dreading...

Thanks both for your replies, hopefully things settle down soon. I haven't missed having sore nipples, but glad that there's light at the end of the tunnel :).
