I'm 6 month pg and I still bf my 3 year old, so in theory I should be an old hand at it all and it should be fine... but, I can't help but read all the advice being given to new mums along the lines of don't do anything except feed the baby, have everything within arms reach so you don't have to move etc etc, what about when there's a 3 year old causing havoc and needing taking to pre school and feeding etc?

I'm getting really nervous about feeding a newborn again - I'm so used to a toddler!

It can be hard, I admit. But while with a first you can take your time and really learn how to bf, with your second you fall back on how flexible bfing can be, so you do a lot of shoving on just before you leave the house so baby will sleep when out or if the baby has slept well when you are out, you shove them on when you get back, stick cbeebies on or get the books out(!) for the older one, or in your case even tandem feed them.

However, how easy it is does depend on the baby. My second was a very settled baby and took all manner of shoving on, slept well while out and about, waited for a feed. My third born when the others were 4 and 2, and the eldest had just started school was a bloody nightmare! If he wasn't hungry he would not open his mouth at all, if he was hungry he immediately took to screaming at full volume. In the end I found lots of little tricks to get through it as well as having 2 other kids about.
