What's wrong with my boob?!

Hi all, my left breast has always been the more 'productive' of the two, and this evening it's very hard and painful, sort of at the top of the breast ... Dd is 7 weeks and feeding fine on both. Does anyone know what might be wrong or is it nothing? Right breast feels normal and comfortable.
Thanks :)

It sounds like a blocked duct. It's a good idea to try to clear it asap, so you don't have to deal with mastitis or an abcess.

If you can feed with the baby's chin to the lump, that often clears it very quickly. At your DD's age, the only way to manage this is for her to lie on the bed, and you crouch over her on all fours (silly, yes, but less annoying than mastitis).

Hot compresses or massage of the area, during feeds, can help with the lump, too.

I 2nd NQC and raise the suggestion of feeding DD in her bouncer/car seat with you on all fours - it's a bit easier than flat on floor/bed (well it was for me but horses for course)

Thanks for your suggestions, but there isn't a lump, it's more like the whole of the top was sore, like someone had punched it? It feels better today after a bit of massage - perhaps I just slept on it funny ...
