I was just wondering, im a first timer and ebf my dd, I have just seen on another thread that someone elses ebf baby is having about 3 to 4 dirty nappies a day, my dd has a dirty nappy every time she feeds, she is always quite sicky but mw and hv both said this is ok, was just wondering if this is normal or should I contact hv... next time im meant to see her is in 3 weeks time.

At that age DS pooed constantly. At 3 weeks his sister is down to once or twice a day. I think frequent poo is really normal in breastfed babies - although as they get older they sometimes save poo up for days on end, usually until you're in a rush to get out of the house or something ...!

my dd2 has a dirty nappy every feed too (she is 2 weeks today!) I remember my dd1 was the same. This morning, we have had extra poo during changes too! think its fairly normal at this stage.

My ds seemed to poo constantly for the first few weeks, we were getting through 12 nappies a day. Now at almost 10 weeks we're down to 2-4 poos a day.

Oh God yes, every single time he fed he needed a nappy change. we did about 12 a day at this stage. The ones up the back are the worst :)
