How much milk for a 3month old for 3-4 hours?

I am fully breastfeeding DS3 (3m) but start a job on Monday for 3 hours a day. How much milk should I try and express for him? It'll be nearer 4 hours in total, especially the first few days. THanks :)

found this on kellymon but wondered in RL how much people typically leave?

I use the amounts on kellymom. We find she will drink whatever's in the bottle regardless of amount, so we offer what we think she should have, if she still cries afterwards then she is offered more. This rarely happens though. If your only away four hours, then she needs just enough to satiate her and then she'll catch up when your together again.

I work in the number of hours plus one principle. So, if your likely to be away 4 hours then I would leave 5oz, with maybe access to a frozen stash in emergencies.

DD has up to 10oz while I'm at work. Though before 6months she would sometimes go up to 13oz, but that was when I was away for 9 hours, maybe pushing 10 and if her feeding schedule didn't fit in with my timings (i.e. she got fed just before I got in, so then expressed straight away). I also think some of her having 13oz was because she particularly grumpy so DH kept offering her food, which she took but didn't make her any happier.

Will you express while you're at work if your working mon-fri?

Thanks for that - I won't need to express at work as it's only 4 hours a day (well 3, have allowed half hour each side though it's only a 5 min drive away). I have only managed 50ml so far though :(
