there's a bit in there readers letters, where they have printed 3 peoples letters ll slatting someone who apprentley was asked to go somewhereprivate in primark.
i haven't read anything about what happened in primark, only seen the paper today

3 fucking letters all slagging off bf in public saying time and a place, who wants to see that etc etc.

yet thay have some teenager on page 3 totally naked apart froom a pair of pants.
only reason for this male titaliation

fucking hell i am seething

i only bothered to look at dh paper as he has been moaniing about how much time i spend on here, so i thought id look at his paper instead, and now i'm all wound up.

i feel quite sorry for the poor woman who was trying to breastfeed in primark. I always tried to nab myself the comfy seats in a cafe for a spot of breastfeeding in public. Much more comfortable.

It is the Sun. Hypocrisy is part of their mission statement.

elportodelgato · 04/10/2010 13:49

but carrie, any fule nos that tits is for wanking over innit? Wink

who gives a fuck what sun readers think? I can't wait to be bf-ing again in the new year so I can hopefully be tutted at and have an excuse to swear loudly at someone (hormonal much?). Unfortunately, in RL, and far away from white van man and his ilk, I have only ever had positive supportive comments from old and young alike

carriedababi · 04/10/2010 13:50

oh and one of the bitching letters won star letter....

It is bloody annoying but I console myself with the facts that a) the people that are offended by public BF are a small (albeit very vocal) minority and b) I can offend them merely by BF my DD so no extra effort needed Grin

CaptainKirksNipples · 04/10/2010 13:53

I have bf two children over 15 month period and all over the place and did not get one negative comment, ever!

Who are these people that complain, I have never seen one?

escapologist · 04/10/2010 13:58

I've never seen one either in all my days of public breastfeeding. If anyone looked annoyed, I'd assume it was I nabbed the comfy chairs in costa.

EauRouge · 04/10/2010 13:58

They don't complain to your face, they wait until they get home and then write to the Sun or post on the DM website.

carriedababi · 04/10/2010 13:58

wouldn't have been so bad if there was 2 letters one for and one against but its was just a 3 letter hammering.

Angry

yes your right they think all there for is having a fucking wank over.

Exactly escapologist. I had people falling over themselves to help, entertaining DS when I was feeding DD, bringing stuff to me or walking past smiling and saying well done.

I was at a train station platform feeding on a metal bench and the cafe shop owner who had closed up already, re-opened her shop and said I could go in and gave me a free cup of tea to keep my fluid levels up!

I like to think that everyone has these things happen to them and that I am not unusual Smile. Doesn't everyone go mushy at the sight of little babies feeding?

escapologist · 04/10/2010 14:12

I always wonder if the people who are so offended by public breastfeeding are also offended by the fact that all the women around them are naked under their clothes. Shock

carriedababi · 04/10/2010 16:56

ive calmed down a bit now

OP posts:
nickelbabe · 04/10/2010 17:02

it is annoying, as this article (okay from 2007) seems to be positive about it.

nickelbabe · 04/10/2010 17:07

and here

i'm quite saddened that they would publish those after such positive articles.

ConnorTraceptive · 04/10/2010 17:10

Really though you're not going to find intelligent opinions in the sun are you?

I would redirect your anger by rolling up said paper and hitting your DH with it as punishment for buying it in the first place

fifitot · 04/10/2010 17:12

I love the 'time and place' argument. Tell that to a hungry baby!

ConnorTraceptive · 04/10/2010 17:20

When it comes to babies the time is now and the place is here!
