Hard boob when giving up feeding worry

I've given up feeding now my DS is 9 months old and have stopped now for nearly 2 weeks. I'm not in loads of pain but I have 1 boob that is huge compared to the other and on the right underside of it, it just feels like a rock and as though my milk has gone hard.

Is this ok or do I need to massage it or anything like that? I've hand expressed a bit of milk off as it was too painful to sleep on but I don't want to express loads as I just don't feel as though my supply is going down.

You need to be really careful that you don't develop mastitis. I'd express enough justti relieve the discomfort. Your supply will go down but maybe less quickly than you hope.

Thanks. I'm expressing a little but I don't want to express too much so my body thinks it needs to produce more. Is it normal for the milk to go hard in my boob?

Yes, that's when you're engorged - have a look at Kellymom website for a bit more info to help that.
