Hi I am using Milton fluid to sterilise my swing pump but am finding the funnel bit (breast shield?) goes greasy in the milton sometimes, like its had butter rubbed round it. Does anyone else have experience of this? Does it matter? Its if I leave it more than 24 hours without changing the water.

I'd just give it a rinse with boiled water from the kettle before use.

I didn't sterilise mine with Milton, I just washed it carefully with hot soapy water and left to air dry on clean kitchen paper. On the advice of MNetters!

Thanks, I'm using it to donate to a milk bank (and a bit ready for making weaning foods) so I have to sterilise it. Just worried it was getting degraded or that chemicals would be leaching out.
