A quickie few questions about colostrum

If you decided from the off that you were not going to breastfeed, for whatever your choice or reason-did you go so far as to give your child the colostrum-if so were you advised to or not?

Did you breastfeed the colostrum or did you express it?

Anyone got any children who never had any colostrum? Did this bother you? Do you believe the lack of it effected your childs health?

Bear in mind that any answers (pos or neg) will be anecdotal - and with no comparison. It's not possible to actually work out whether an individual child would be more or less healthy from one choice. You may prefer to consider the scientific evidence if this is a decision you're making yourself.

For the record I am not telling you what to do or what is right or wrong, just a consideration :)

Thank you, It's not for me-I Bf's mine til she was 1 and she then self weaned. It's research for an education project rather than anything else. I have a done a fair bit of research the science info.

You might want to consider revising the title of your thread as it might only be clicked on by people who feel they have some knowledge of colostrum that they could give you in answer iyswim. These people are more likely imho to be bf's...though i could be wrong.

If you want a broader cross section for your research it might be worth titleing it something like "did you ff from the start? Your views on colostrum please..." or something?
