cranial osteopathy for trapped wind

has anyone had cranial oseopathy on their baby born by c section? the website only mentions that the problems stem from being squashed through the birth canal. i thought i mighht give it a go as my 9 week old ds has had terrible trapped wind for the last 2 weeks and nothing seems to cure it. he is fed EBM and a bit of formula (EBM because he takes over an hour to feed on the breast and never fully empties it, and i have lost the will to live with it!). tried gripe water, infacol, boiled water with sugar, massage, cycling - the lot! btw - his poos have also changed to a bit liquidy and green. could it be a tummy upset instead? help!

not had a c-section but can't recommend CO enough! it really is fab.
newborn babies DO have very runny poo, and they are alll colours of the rainbow so shouldn't worry about that!

Haven't tried it but would be interested to hear if it works. My DS is a VERY windy/colicky baby but we have had him on Colief drops for the last 2 days which have relaly improved the wind (and it's smell!).

oh, highly recommended! worked a treat on ds when all else failed.

Cranial Osteopathy is amazing. My hideously colicky dd has had 3 treatments and she is like a different baby - a normal baby!

we've had two treatments over past month for colicky 4 month old born by cs, third and final end of week. some improvement - screaming starts a little later, but no reduction in intensity - but very difficult to know whether this is down to CO. i'd say go for it if you can spare the money, after all options are rather limited aren't they so really worth trying everything.

I had c-section.
Bf for few weeks.
Milk dried up overnight, though shock of unhelpful comment from HV.
Bottle fed.
Terrible colic.
Tried, infacol, colief, gripe everything.
Cranial brilliant.
It did seem to have a 'strange effect' on ds, but three sessions were all that was neeeded.

asked my gp about this last week. I suspected cranial osteopathy might be reliant on placebo effect.

That was exactly what the GP said. He thinks it's similar to one of those spider-looking things that massages your scalp

But he did say, if a placebo is effective, then why not....it's the cost that scares me!

but a baby can;t be affected by a placebo

and it is NOTHING like that spider thing!

a lot of GP's are anti anything alternative...b ut CO, and ordinary oseopathy are not really alternative. they rely on manipulating bones etc to make you more comfortable.

i have seen the most amazing changes in babies i have minded, and i also spoke to someone at baby clinic today who spoke wonders of it

although i'm not normally one to go for anything outside of "modern" i.e. chemical medicine, my osteopath is nothing short of fantastic. example: i went to him just after ds' birth for help from sciatica & when said osteo heard ds screaming, offered to help. I was initially extremely sceptical but wow! what a difference. well worth the money.
