5 1/2 month growth spurt?

Ds will be 23weeks in a few days, he's not started weaning yet. The past three days and nights he has just been feeding or crying and fussing, last night he fed for most of the night. He's had epic growth spurts before but this is something else.
He's just getting over a stomach bug is this a reaction to that does anyone think?
Should I start weaning now?
Or is this a typical growth spurt and this too shall pass?!
I know no one can know, I'm just shattered, and don't know whether to wean/wait/collapse into a heap. He was 6weeks early, don't know if this is pertinant.
I wouldn't mind so much if he just fed, but he's fussing on the breast and crying all the time. I don't know whether it's because he needs more then milk, or whether it's 4 month sleep regression and a growth spurt all at once, he just won't stop feeding and start sleeping aghh!

It may be the 6 month growth spurt a bit early (babies don't read the calendar Wink) OR it may be teething - breastmilk contains natural painkillers so some babies nurse constantly as a tooth comes through (normally takes a few days).

we had a few days of feeding every hour or more just before six months. As jem said, babies vary wildly as to when they have theirs, but does sound like the 6 month one.

Also all of our growth spurts have been different, some fussy, some with lots of crying, others with everything. If he had a stomach bug, then he could very well also be catching up and the two have combined.

Good luck and {{hugs}} because fussiness is an emotional draining son of a bitch
