I havent had any pain until the last day for some reason I am getting pain when she feeds (it feels like shes biting down on my nipple as she sucks?) and its sore for a while after but then eases of until the next feed. I am having trouble getting her to open her mouth wide enough to get a good latch I think but I have no idea why after 5 weeks of no trouble?

I did have it suggested that it was thrush I checked her mouth etc it looks normal so not sure if that means it isnt? any suggestions my nipples are startign to look a little craked at the end now!

Where about on your nipple is it hurting? If she's not opening her mouth wide enough that could be why - DS was a nightmare for this but got better.

Rub a little bit of milk onto your nipples, then coat them in Lansinoh to help with the cracking.

Here is some infomation on Thrush that might be helpful.

Don't worry - we all have times when it goes a bit "wrong"; DS is ten months and I still have to correct his latch sometimes!

I found it helped if I supported my breast with my hand (put DS on a breastfeeding pillow) and he brought him in as close as physically possible. All the usually tricks, stroking his cheek with my nipple etc helped a little too.

Is there a breastfeeding peer supporter group or similar you could go to?
