Does mastitis make you throw up?

Had a horrific night last night, so cold despite heating full blast, huddled in a ball under the duvet, aching all over and then I threw up everywhere :( Got the lovely red patch on the side of my breast (not too bad looking but making me feel awful) but would mastitis make you throw up? And would such a small patch make you feel so awful? DS is 9 w tomorrow and although I stopped bleeding 3-4 weeks ago, I had a bleed yesterday :(Confused

I would get yourself down to the Docs asap for some antibiotics! poor you, Mastitus can make you feel like vomiting, or you can actually vomit. Sorry you feel so rubbish. Sounds like a nasty case to me. Take it easy, drink plenty of fluids and REST as mush as you can. It wipes you out.

Yes it can do, it can be very very nasty.

Please see a doctor today, continue bfing especially from that side in all different positions, and massage with hot water.

Paracetamol and ibuprofen for pain relief but you really should see a doctor today.

It has with me in the past yes - feels like flu like symptoms Sad.

Does it hurt when you feed? Have you had it before - do you know what to do to help it?

Bleed could be a period...

I wouldn't be surprised. Mastitis can make you feel really, really awful. I wouldn't have thought the size of the patch indicates how bad you will feel. Take care of yourself, it's horrible

third time I have definatly had it - second time with this DS, different side. Last time was due to a badly fitting sleep bra, no idea why this time. Can't go to docs because have 3 DSs [feral] and DH is by freak chance having to do a 12 hour shift today ending at 7, and I made him take the car with all the carseats because it's better on diesel. Sods law! Maybe I can see OOH, I feel warmer now but sweat is dripping off my face, but at least the vomiting has stopped. bleed was just a one off, made me worry it might be womb infection? or do you get random post birth/period bleeds? sorrry for dodgy typing, ds on lap
