bf baby won't take bottle... help

I want to wean 5 month old DD off the breast as I am going back to work soon and can't take anymore biting, and want to stop BF. Have got Tommee Tippee bottle, but DD won't take anything from one. Have tried formula, water, juice and EBM. Can anyone suggest bottles I can try? Or has anyone had the same experience?

i had the number 1 teats on tommee tippee bottles then switched to the varie flow teats as they are bigger and baby can control flow more and she now takes bottle fine

Couple of suggestions: Breastflow bottles, NUK teats (not together...)

Why not use a cup/beaker instead of a bottle?

I have recently found that DS2 will only drink milk (other than breastmilk from breasts) by use of a straw. But maybe 5 months is a bit young for a straw!

had the same problem, eventually after a (very stressful) month of trying we had success with nuk teats, the latex ones. good luck.

Our LO took to a cup when she got a bit fussy on the bottle. This was at 4 months, at 6 she still needs to lie down to drink it, but it gets the job done.

Just had same problem with my 4 month old . I tried 4 different bottles and he refused 3 . We were eventually successful with the mam and a slow mam teat and now he takes a whole bottle . bought it from mothercare but also saw them in boots .

glad its worked out for you, i had the same issue with 7 month old and when he realized he had no choice he held out all day he then took TT bottle and i had to go out and get size 3 teat!this happened in the last week, and im so glad ive stopped BF breasts felt like rocks for a few days also!
