Thrush - blooming heck this hurts

Dd2 is 14 weeks, exclusively bf and all was brilliant until recently. The 12 week growth spurt was relentless and my left nipple felt bruised after all settled. I figured I'd allowed some lazy latching on that side - always my difficult side for latch - during the haze of constant feeding. I also have eczema. No major cracks just a bruised appearance so redoubled my care re latch, back on lansinoh and thought all would be well by now. But each feed is getting worse, nipple is red and tiny cracks have appeared at base and there's a slightly whitish look. Dd2 did have thrush in her mouth a few weeks back but no sign now. It never bothered her but I treated it with daktarin gel. The right nipple is fine. I'm using daktarin on the nipple with jelonet and it felt better when I woke this am until I had to feed her on that side. Have had paracetamol and now feeling very sorry for myself. Had to take her off before she'd really finished as was just too sore. The nipple shape was fine after she came off so think latch ok. I'm allergic to fluconazole. Any suggestions (could contact hv re latch or attend bf group if no better in a few days but really think it's a thrush issue not latch)

Have you seen your doc about it? You might need tablets for you and drops for baby.

I'm already using the gel for dd and I can't take the tablets recommended by breast feeding network because I'm allergic. Because of that I really hoped I could avoid thrush :(

I'm going to try all the natural remedies and daktarin for another 24hrs as there has been ?some slight improvement and then contact gp.

I had bad thrush with DS at about 3/4 weeks and what fixed it was Biocidin forte tablets for me and drops for DS.

I think I bought them from here

Hope that helps
