Milk blister: www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mom/nipplebleb.html
I am trying to work out if I have one or not! I went to the doctor today and he was useless, so I am trying to figure it out for myself what is up. I have been feeding my dd for 8 months and the past few days it has been so painful on my right side it practically reduces me to tears and I really have to grit my teeth through the feed :(
It seems to be this particular spot on my areola that is really painfull, it just happens to be in line with her teeth :(
Anyone had one and any tips on if there is anything I can do about it to help it heal if it is one, lol!

So have you got a pale spot on your nipple where the milk comes out as well as pain on areola? Because if not, it could just be your DD's teeth...

I had a milk blister and tried the moist flannels etc etc as on the kellymom website, but I think I took a needle to it in the end which fixed it.

There is only a tiny white dot on the areola, not on the nipple itself. The pain is in this particular spot and I just fed her again and it hurts soooooo much I could cry! I am worried no one is going to be able to help me... the doctor didn't seem to know much beyond mastitis or however you spell it!

I had one when DD was four months, though it was on my nipple rather than the areola. The location of mine meant it was blocking a duct or two so I had a very full and incredibly sore breast. I solved it by the entirely unmedical and unrecommended method of scratching it off with my fingernail Blush after trying everything else, and was then amazed by the gallons of milk which poured out (and aaaahhh the instant relief). The HCPs I showed it to were useless as well. Hope you manage to get it sorted.
