15 wo taking 2oz at a time

My strapping 15week DS has become really really fussy about taking a bottle. I stopped BF 3 weeks ago, and he was absolutely fine with a bottle up until that point (with expressed milk) and after.

This problem started about 10 days ago - he seems to want to feed, but after 2 oz (sometimes less) starts to wail and cry and refuses to take any more - batting the bottle away with his hands, and gagging if I try to feed him. He used to take 6oz at a time - no problem.

I just realised that the teats I have been are for 1-3 month old, so have ordered the next size up which should arrive tomorrow. Could this have caused the problem? if not, what else could it be?

I am using baby born free bottles, and he really seemed to like this bottle/teat until about 10 days ago ...

I've had the same issue, but for the last 6 weeks. Very poor weight gain with it, no idea why. Tried everything, teats, bottles, positions, milks...peadiatrician appt next week.

Yes I am just looking at your thread ...........
I have not had DS weighed for ages (he looks absolutely fine - v plump and healthy) ... But I will get him checked out now
It is really weird - and very frustrating.

My DS looks fine! Honestly he's hardly skin and bone. Without the stomach upset I may not have even picked up on the weight loss. He's happy, not chubby as such but far from thin. It's frustrating, I'm almost wondering if it's somehow learnt behaviour that has carried over from discomfort previously, if that's possible in such a young child.
