Just started expressing - how much?

Hi

I have decided to express one bottle a day for my dd who is 5 weeks old. I was just wondering how much she should be having? Yesterday I managed to get 3oz in 15 minutes, but she guzzled it in 5minutes and seemed full, normally she feeds for half an hour!!

thanks

There is some good stuff on Kellymom website about it. I worked on the fact that my LO was taking 24floz in total per day, dividing between the number of feeds and adding a little for luck!
So...my LO had 7 feeds per day - 3.something fl oz per feed, so my ebm bottle was 4 fl oz. Hope that makes sense?
3oz in 15 minutes sounds pretty good to me.

Bloody hell, yes! I can manage 2oz in 20 minutes, 3oz if my boobs are very full - well done you!

milk comes out of a bottle faster, so if dd was full in 5 mins it doesn't mean she's not had enough :-)

wow 3oz in 15 minutes, you're very lucky!
