Pain in left breast

My dd is 13 weeks old and until 4 days ago she was ebf, we have since introduced 3oz top-ups after each bf as she was failing to put on weight.

However, over the last week I have started to notice a pain in my left breast during feeds and sometimes in between feeds. It's almost like the pain you get when they first latch on but it seems to last for most of the feed though it does ease slightly. There are no visible signs of pain like cracked nipples, I don't feel engorged and it doesn't feel like a blocked duct as I had one of those in the first few weeks.

Things which have changed which may or may not be linked:

  1. formula top-ups in last 4 days.
  2. I've stopped expressing, I was doing it morning and night.
  3. She has started waking for a night feed at 4am after sleeping through from 5 weeks. She's woke up for about a week now.

She's feeding about 6-8 times per day too.

Thanks in advance if you've made it through that. Any idea what it may be or how I can ease it would be great, thanks.

Allsheep - thanks, I think you have hit the nail on the head, it hadn't occured to me as baby is asymptomatic. Will see gp today :)

Gruffalo - thanks for the bump, I'd gone to bed by then.
