When I was trying to cut down on DD's feeds the best thing I found was distraction. Going out lots helped and offering a snak and drink instead of a feed to. It helped that we'd got into a bit of a route that meant I didn't offer when out and about anyway.

As for night weaning, could you send some one else in during the night or try offering water. I just went with the flow at night as we got more sleep that way, plus I'm not totaly convinced a 12months old should go 12hours without anything to drink.

Good luck

thank you migGirl, he has 2 sisters who help to distract him and he enjoys playing with them lots, he wont let me out of his sight i evevn have to take him with me when i go to the loo!!!!! i would be quiet happy to carry to on but am under pressure to stop from my partner and sister and friends who feel that he is too old to still be breastfeeding.

i want to stop as he keeps biting me and i have had to go on antibiotics twice now!and for some freedom from him,but for the ease of things i would carry on.Confused
