I'm ashamed to say I really can't remember what the form is about dropping feeds during the weaning process... dd is nearly 8 months old and she currently feeds 5 times a day alongside her three meals a day. Should I be thinking about reducing those milk feeds? Her feeding pattern is something like this...

7am bf
8am breakfast
12noon bf
1pm lunch
3pm bf
5pm tea
7pm bf
10.30pm dreamfeed.

It sounds a lot, I'm sure ds wasn't having so much milk at this age, but I really can't remember.

Hi Headfairy, I'm sure there will be some bfing experts along later to give you advice. In the meantime, I think the guidance is to still bf on demand and let dd drop feeds in her own time. If she is eating well then you really don't need to worry. Congratulate yourself on bfing for so long!

That sounds perfect TBH. Milk should be the main source of calories until 1. My DC dropped feeds on their own over time, there's no need to push things unless your keen to stop BF.

I cant remember either, is it somehting like feeding before the bf?
