mastitis and baby poo

Everything read about mastitis states that baby is unaffected by feeding from the infected breast, but DD (8mths) has just had the most horrendous tummy since it began last Friday. She was farting like a trooper on Friday, had cold sweats overnight and didn't really sleep after 3am despite being in with us (our usual failsafe solution), was still farting all day on Saturday and produce two of the most enormous, foul nappies I've seen on Saturday night. Even last night after I was feeling near human yesterday, she was up for a long time with her tummy.

Can mastitis cause tummy problems in wee ones or are we looking at a separate bug/food issue with her?

Are you taking antibiotics for the mastitis? Antibiotics can certainly affect baby's tummy.

No, I've avoided them since I know how sensitive her tummy is. She has all sorts of intolerances, but no new foods since early last week as I was waiting for things to settle down after she had peppers before I started some food challenges.
