I have no idea but when DS1 was 10 months we went abroad for a 2 week holiday and I just bought local formula and he didn't notice the difference. Is it really that hard to switch brands? (maybe someone who knows a lot more will tell me it is?)

We traveled with our DTs in the US from when they were 6 months to 9 months.

We used whatever brand was available - but largely it was infamil in a yellow package. Both were very happy to switch brands and we had no trouble at all.

But - you need to be aware of a few things:

  1. In the US there are loads and loads if different varieties for sale. So always check the label that its what you want to buy.
  1. You can't buy ready-made cartons. The ready made comes in cans which are hugely expensive and also not available everywhere. So we stocked up whenever we could. For the 1 litre tins you need a can opener - but the smaller tins just open with a ring pull.
  1. They don't seem to have kettles in the US - so I have no idea how they made up the formula. So you may need to buy a kettle.

I would take a couple of tins of your favorite brand with you so that you have a bit of breathing space when you get there so you can research the shops first.

Have fun. America is a great place to be with babies. Changing tables in all the mens and womens public toilets - so DH and I could take one baby each and bish bash bosh all done with minimum fuss Smile
