I have just posted
this

in news.

Some of the comments are just as disturbing...

Obviously I mean comments in the original page!

I hope that if this happened to me I'd refuse and would be strong enough to insist I was right.

FlipFantasia · 11/08/2010 15:51

Good on her complaining - stupid bus driver Angry. He's obviously got ishooos...

pinemartina some of the comments (on the original link) are bad but so many are good - really supportive of the mum and of BFing in general. I read a few pages of comments and it left me with quite a glow that so many more of the comments were positive Smile

mrsgordonfreeman · 11/08/2010 15:53

Hasn't there been a similar story knocking about for a while which turned out not to be true?

clarabellarocks · 11/08/2010 15:55

I was just about to post on here - I was so shocked by the comments!!! I didn't breastfeed my daughter because we struggled for many reasons and I had to go to the bottle. The first time i fed her in public I was convinced people were staring at me because I was feeding such a small baby by bottle. I can't believe that people are the other way.

Someone said women who breastfeed in public are not wanting the best for their babies but are just exhibitionists!!! You want to slap them! They have obviously never been around a hungry baby.

And not to mention the old arguement "lots of other things are natural like going to the toilet!"

The sooner it's made illegal to stop women breastfeeding the better.

God I'm so mad!

Bacofoil · 11/08/2010 15:55

I would've slung her off for calling her kid D'Marion.

Remember that woman who claimed the same and it turned out she was batshit crazy and it never happened?

I don't know why the woman got off the bus. I wouldn't.

LeoniPoni · 11/08/2010 16:25

Oh god. I really hate how ridiculous some people are about bf.

I'm not the most body confident of people and I'm trying to build my confidence up to BFing my 5 week old DS in public. Fed him while in an M&S cafe with my mum and sister the other day and it was great! Really made me realise that the vast majority of people don't care. But stories like this really freak me out! Bit nervous to feed in public alone now!

tiktok · 11/08/2010 17:01

I doubt it happened.

ReneRusso · 11/08/2010 17:07

If I can breastfeed in front of my elderly in-laws in a restaurant on a Saturday night, then anyone can breastfeed anywhere Wink.
I agree, it probably didn't happen. Not sure why someone would make up a story like that though.

Babieseverywhere · 11/08/2010 17:30

Not sure why someone would make up a story like that though.

There was an identical story like this a few months back in Birmingham. CCTV footage proved the young girl in question lied.

Hopefully the bus company will be able to get CCTV footage quickly and established what happened, if anything.

MummyBerryJuice · 11/08/2010 17:39

It does sound eerily similar to the story a few months ago, doesn't it?

I'm not that concerned by the story (cause I'm doubtful) but it is the comments that concern me. All that tralk about it being the same as urinating/defecating!

Zara75 · 11/08/2010 17:42

I would not understand either why anybody would make up a story like this.

However, nobody should feel uncomfortable breastfeeding in public and nobody should expect a mum to express to feed her milk in a bottle to a baby..was one of the comments I've read today..I really don't know what some people think.

ReneRusso · 11/08/2010 17:47

It was Bristol wasn't it, the one when it turned out to be made up? I can only guess that the person would be seeking attention due to some mental health problem. Perhaps the same in this case. Either that or an incredibly rude and ignorant bus driver. Either way its Sad.

Bacofoil · 11/08/2010 17:57

I read some of the comments and laughed out loud. Particularly the twunt who said that he disliked the smell given off from bfing. wtf.

I was going to post 'why didn't the driver have his eyes on the road' but I think I would have to register with the Daily Wail and ugh ugh ugh.

AS ever, nekkid breasts good; hidden breast breastfeeding bad - what's that all about?

I find seeing people pick their noses and eat it revolting. So if I catch someone doing it in the corner of my eye I look away. And I'll cross the road to avoid walking through someone else's fag smoke. What is it about bfing that makes the disinterested irate, disgusted and righteous?

Babieseverywhere · 11/08/2010 21:12

ReneRusso, You are right it was Bristol

Bacofoil · 12/08/2010 13:14

...and today it's looking like she might be another looper.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-10941734

From link:

A spokeswoman for Stagecoach Manchester said: "We have now carried out a thorough review of CCTV footage from our buses, based on the information provided to us by the mother concerned, and have also spoken to regular passengers on the route to try and obtain more details about the circumstances involved in this case.

"While we have identified the customer boarding the service as described, the voice-enabled CCTV footage quite clearly shows that there was no dialogue between the mother and the driver."
