Ameriscot2005 · 25/08/2005 20:47

Yes

nutcracker · 25/08/2005 20:48

I was going to ask about this because I'm sure Boots have had offers on forumla before now, because I remember my mom telling me one was 2 for £10.

SleepySuzy · 25/08/2005 20:48

what code?

misdee · 25/08/2005 20:48

oh dear oh dear.

superdrug did it recently. thats why i have loads of cartons of aptimil in my cupboard for dd3 cereals etc.

It only applies to 'breast milk substitutes', ie formula suitable from birth.

Ameriscot2005 · 25/08/2005 20:49

You really are sleepy, Suzy!

nutcracker · 25/08/2005 20:49

Ahhh it could have been follow on milk she was on about, not sure now.

swamp · 25/08/2005 20:50

they can't discount on sma gold for example, but they can on sma white as that is follow-on (or so I understand it)

misdee · 25/08/2005 20:50

this is definatly the 1st stage formula, its the blue one with 1 on it lol.

OP posts:
misdee · 25/08/2005 20:50

SMA white is 1st stage for hungrier babies.

SleepySuzy · 25/08/2005 20:50

sorry maybe i best keep my name!

Ameriscot2005 · 25/08/2005 20:53

The Code is the 'International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes' from the World Health Organisation, which basically says you are not allowed to do anything to promote formula for newborns (0 - 6 months) - no advertising, discounting, free samples etc.

Follow-on milks are designed primarily to circumvent the WHO code.

hunkermunker · 25/08/2005 21:25

Yes, that's breaking the code. And not surprised Superdrug did it - see my previous thread re Superdrug weaning spoons suitable from three months...

hunkermunker · 25/08/2005 21:27

MT, why bother posting?

mumtosomeone · 25/08/2005 21:27

despite advice people do still choose to wean early.

misdee · 25/08/2005 21:28

malory towers, i was asking a real question.

OP posts:
swamp · 25/08/2005 21:28

it's getting a bit boring all this Boden business

hunkermunker · 25/08/2005 21:29

Oh crap - didn't mean to start the early weaning club onto me again

Yes, some people choose to wean early, but shops shouldn't be cynically encouraging them to do so. See the difference?

mumtosomeone · 25/08/2005 21:33

I agree..sorry was thinking out loud!!!
But if you choose to wean early (not that you should) you might not realise that a spoon is a spoon..and one for 6 months is the same as one for 3 months!!!
