Hi

I am onto week three of breastfeeding now and seem to finally be getting it more or less right. Just wondered how long the extremely sensive / sore nipples last for, can't even wrap a towel around myself without it hurting!! Does it get better, or will it only be better when I stop feeding?

HI kipper.
I've been bfing for 11 weeks so not much further ont hen you. I am glad to say I have no pain at all now and haven't for some time. I had someone from the bresastfeeding network check my latch and they helped me adjust it a bit which made a BIG difference. COuld you go to a breastfeeding group in your area or call a helpline?
Another thing is to make sure that your wee on is opening their mouth as wide as possible. Ds is a bugger for this still, but as his mouth is growing it is getting easier.
I also used Kamillosan religiously after each feed for the first month and it did help.

Well done on your baby and your breastfeeding by the way! Smile
