Anyone tried the medela calma?

That's about it really. I have a 4.5 month old bf DD who won't take a bottle. We've tried all sorts, all ways at all times. I've just seen this and wondered if anyone had tried it and if it worked.
Thanks.

Ah, you were very brave, I take my hat off to you! I think that if mine does take to the Calma bottle, I'll have to give him top ups at the start, or at least try to pump as much as possible on top of the bottle as his appetite is just too much! Perhaps I could give top ups just one in every other feed to start with, and pump on every occasion anyway... It's very difficult Sad

I found pumping as well as feeding to be quite a challenge, especially as I have never been able to express that much. Sometimes we had to give formula as I didn't have enough expressed milk Hmm. It was helpful that ds was a big baby (9lb 13 at birth) so I felt more confident to swap to just bf-ing than I think I would have done if he had been small.

Yes, I agree that pumping as well as feeding is a challenge - at the moment I only find the time to pump once in every other feed. I don't express that much either during the day. It's only after a night's sleep that I manage to get a reasonable amount out. If he takes to this bottle, I'll do my hardest to pump out at every feed, even if it's only for a few minutes...

I've tried to increase milk supply with fennel supplements, as well as trying to stay well hydrated, and trying to eat properly (not easy to find time to do this in between feedings, pumping, changing and when baby is screaming all the time!!!)

Thanks everyone for your comments - it's nice not to feel quite so alone... Smile

I meant in the context of hospital babies this particular SLT had treated Brighton bell.
Glad it worked for you.
