How much milk for one-year old?

I've only ever seen the information about how much milk older babies should have given as volumes and I've no idea how this relates to breastfeeds. What I hope someone can tell me is whether a one-year old would get enough milk from 3 feeds a day (or 2 if he drops the night feed). I'm not sure whether I should ask the nursery to give him a bottle of milk in the day when I go back to work.

Oh, and although they can drink cow's milk from a year, is formula better?

Thanks.

Two bf a day plus all the other dairy products in their diet is fine.

You could give a cup of cows milk at some point in the day if you like. Mine have milk as there drink at tea time.

As for the formula question. If you are continueing the bf I don't see any need for formula as he'll be getting all the good stuff from your milk.
