I'm going to turkey next month and i was wondering what there view on BF in public is. Is it ok for me to just whip out feed or do you need to keep covered and discreet. Dont want to offend or to be thrown out of somewhere.
let me know

Where are you going? I would guess that tourist hotspots are the same all over the world - i.e. some people wouldn't notice or care and others might be offended. If it's not illegal (which I would guess it isn't, but I don't know for sure) I would bf discreetly there. However there are also some really conservative parts of Turkey where it might be quite offensive to most / all of the locals.
Hope someone more helpful is along soon!

You are supposed to bf in Muslim countries until 2 so as long as you're discreet it will be the tourists who are offended rather than the locals iyswim.

if you are worried get these:

I'd guess you mainly going to tourist locations, bit if you want to err on the side of caution

NB if you are particularly worried re offending conservative Muslims, remember bf is actually condoned in the Koran - for two years - and even in places where women are covered in public, bf in public is usually acceptable.

Having said that I never fed in a bikini without some kind of towel / shirt / wrap

When I was in turkey theer were people sunbathing topless but not sure what their views on breastfeeding are. IMO if topless is OK, breastfeeding should be but those rules dont always seem to apply.

Your main problem will be waiters trying to admire your baby!

Just got back from 2 weeks in Fethiye .4month old ebf .Lovely country to go to with children.

No problems anywhere from locals - like stleger says,everyone loves babies and she was whisked away to be made a huge fuss of in cafes and restaurants -even going through security at airport!

No one batted an eyelid at me whipping out anywhere and, this being dc5,I have long since ceased to care who sees what ,where ,and have been known to forget to put clothes/bra back before winding lo/standing up to go - much to dd1's(age 14) horror !

Loads of other visitors from many countries,no bother at all.

Have a great time!

Just remembered we were in Tunisia last year, it's increasingly popular with Russians and other Eastern Europeans. Breastfeeding was no hassle there either.

I live in Turkey and married to a Turk. Breastfeeding is much more excepted than in the UK.My SIL where their hair covered and still breastfeed in public. Try and bottle feed.. thats where the dirty looks will come in.
