Breastflow bottles, opinions?

Hi all

DD2 (6 months) is slooooowly coming round to a bottle after being exclusively BF since birth. We are using Avent bottles with the fastest flowing teats, she seems to like these but is just taking a while to learn how to suck the milk out, she squeezes the teat as if it's a nipple! So I'm wondering whether to try these Breastflow bottles, can anyone give their opinions on them please?

Thanks in advance!

As she's 6 months could you try using a sippy cup instead? Or are you switching to formula?

Have you tried a slower teat? Maybe she's squeezing it as too fast?

I've tried the breastflow ones and DS seemed to like them - well he's not a huge bottle fan anyway. But I stuck to the avent in the end as easier to clean. I actually only use number 2 Avent teats.

I also find that he doesn't like to take huge quantities from a bottle, not sure why.

I like the breastflow but a feed takes sooo much longer. DD is still on the newborn teats for all of hers and can finish a 7oz bottle in half the time with newborn teats than the breastflow medium flow teats!

Thanks for the replies.

Very pleased to report that DD2 drank 3oz of formula from a bottle this afternoon!

We have been trying the slower teats for a while but weren't getting anywhere, it seems that switching to the faster teats was a good move!

She'll have a drink of water from a cup but wasn't interested in taking any milk from one.

It seems weeks & weeks of gentle persuasion is slowly starting to pay off!

Kerry xx
