Weaning 18mth DD off bottle...ideas please :)

I'm starting to get twitchy about bottle mouth.

18 month old DD has a bottle of milk last thing at night, we then clean her teeth and after much cajoling and (more often than not) a pushchair ride she goes to sleep. However for the last couple of months she has been waking in the night and the only thing that seems to get her back off again is another bottle of milk...and of course its not practical to clean her teeth then as she is asleep.

How can I persuade her to get back to sleep again without the bottle ?? Has anyone else had this problem and come up with a genius solution - any ideas appreciated

Does your LO drink milk from a cup at all? With my son, we started by moving him from bottles to cups at night and then from milk to water.

Thanks Squitten. She uses a sippy cup with water in it during the day, but I think she likes the comfort of a bottle last thing. Its not that particular bit i'm worried about though as she has her teeth cleaned before getting into her cot. Its when she wakes in the night and uses a bottle to get back to sleep again. I've heard gradually watering the middle of the night milk down until its just water may work but I'm not sure she'd have much truck with it. I was wondering if anyone had tried it with any success? In the middle of the night you just need a solution that's foolproof!
