How long to down 200ml formula?

I think I've read that it is bad for babies to drink a bottle too fast. DS2 has just moved onto formula this week from exclusive breastfeeds after 5 months. He downs a 200ml bottle in approximately 3-4 minutes and I'm wondering if I should change the teat. We're using the closer to nature TT ones and the variflow teat. We tried the number 2 teat and he took about half of it very slowly and gave up. Should I try a number 3 teat instead or just accept that my baby downs milk very fast?

He's been at the 91st centile for weight since 7 days old but of course we never knew how much breast milk he would take. He only ever breastfed for 10 minutes. Sometimes he seems to still be hungry at the end of 200ml. Do I give more, change to hungry baby mlik or distract him?

This was never the issue with DS1 who took till 11 months to finish a bottle due to reflux, so excuse my ignorance! Thanks in advance for any replies.

We have used size 3 teats since my dd was about 5 months, she's now just under 9 motnhs. She will down a 200 ml bottle in about 4-5 minutes. I normally stop her in the middle and try for a burp (although now, it doesn't normally happen), and she spends that minute or so protesting that i've taken the bottle away, but it means that at least I feel better about her drinking so fast. Though, she's never seemed to have any problems with drinking so fast (and I've never heard that babies shouldn't drink it so fast).

I'm not sure about giving him more in the bottle - my daughter did have 240mL for a short while, but the HV seemed to think that it was too much for a baby to have in one sitting.

Thanks. I have to say that DS2 is a lot happier taking 200ml fomrula in less than 5 mins than he was trying to have a whole breastfeed with reflux on his side so I'm not sure why I'm worrying really!
