Help!

Have got either flu, man flu or something horrid and I cannot move far. Am hot/cold, on max strength tablets and think sickness on the way.

DH wants to take DS2 who is breastfed (15 months) TO MIL for the night so i can rest> He wakes at 5 usuallly and feeds before bed.

Have never left him before and planned to feed until he self-weans. Will this scupper feeding?

sorry for typos, can barely see`>

Are you able to express? That way your MIL could give your DS a bottle first thing in the morning, allowing you to get some rest (if he will take a bottle).

If you are ill and can continue giving breastmilk to your DS, he will get antibodies which will help protect him against your specific illness. Hopefully he'll avoid getting it altogether, or he'll get a milder version.

Hope you feel better soon

thank you.

Managing to feed now. He won't take a bottle but is fine with cups. Just worried about leaving him overnight without me feeding.

he;ll be fine

i spent last night away from my 13 month old, and he was absolutely fine. he had a bottle of oat milk for his 3am feed which he apparently took after a little bit of a whinge

he was very happy to see me when i got back tho!

I started letting DH take DS away overnight at that age and he still fed the same when he came back. Now 19m and was away 3 whole nights with him recently, just carried on when he came back.

Hope you feel better soon. If you're not planning to BF for the next day or so you might be able to take some good drugs??

Or at least some medicinal whisky/hot toddy
