my breastfed baby has just hit the 20 week mark and her feeding has become very very unpredictable. sometimes going 4 hour stretches in the day, sometimes going 1 hour stretches....It also seems like she is feeding less, as she sleeps amazingly through the night (10pm-6am roughly)... am worried she is not gaining eating enough... any advice/comments

How's her weight gain? If she's gaining enough weight then don't worry about how often she wants food, she will eat when hungry!

My DS goes for one longer stretch per day (after the 7am feed he waits till about 11am) but after that it tends to be little and often. I try to space them out to 2 hours but often it's shorter. But I'm not worried, his weight gain is consistently good and I love BF anyway!!

It is also really difficult to know how much a BF baby is taking. Don't forget that the older your DD is, the more efficient she will be at getting milk out - so she may feed for less time but still get the same amount iyswim.

My dd is only 16 weeks but she feeds roughly every 2 hours during the day and has a long stretch at night, when she will sleep between 8 and 10 hours. Just what the others have said, keep feeding on demand when your dc wants fed. If weight gain is ok then you have nothing to worry about.

Varies, sometimes it seems like it is hourly and other times he isn't interested for around 4 hours (ish).

He isn't restrained when he wants something so I just go with it.
